Diep.io Strategy and tips and tricks

Diep.io Strategy And Hints: On Tank Groups, Updating Stats And Progressing Through The Agar.io-Style Game

Been playing Agario spin off game, Diep.io but want some suggestions for updating your tank and reaching higher levels? Have a look at our Diep.io hints, tricks and strategy guide, here.

Diep.io, a third, browser-based game sensation is taking the internet by storm, joining the ranks of popular predecessors, Agar.io and Slither.io. But unlike Slither.io, which seemed rather simple to get a handle on after playing Agar.io, Diep.io, brings similar gameplay features but with some twists which makes it an entirely different beast.

If you’ve just began playing Diep.io but you actually have’t gotten the handle on the various tank classes, when to upgrade and what stats are most helpful, we’ve put together a beginner’s guide to playing the game and leveling up without using any cheats.

irst things first, for those who have heard of the game but are’t certain how it’s played, basically, instead of being a true website or a snake, you embody a little tank. The object of the game, like Agar.io and Slither.io is to become the largest baddest tank around and it demands demolishing tanks around you in order to get there. Yet, in Diep.io it takes a little more ability than knowing the best way to dodge or dash at the appropriate times. In Diep.io we’ve also got stat points and tank types that add complexity to the gameplay.

To play the game, you need to see Diep.io, type in a username and you’ll be taken to a recognizable looking game grid with your miniature tank in the middle (blue circle with miniature grey square attached).
Barriers in the game, which you have to shoot in order to obtain expertise and later level up, contain colored squares, triangles and pentagons.

To fire simply point your mouse at your target and click the left mouse button or tap the space bar (instead, you can hold down either the left mouse or space bar for continuous shots).
To move around the grid, use your arrow keys
When you destroy shapes or other tanks your tank amount bar starts to fill. Once it’s full you level up.
Each time your Tank levels up you develop a stat point which allows you to add stats to your tank like wellness, bullet speed, penetration – there are eight district stats you'll be able to update using points (more on those below). You get a stat point for each level up until you hit 30.
When you reach level 15 tank you'll be able to pick what class of tank you desire to belong to – there are four. Each category, just like stats, adds a unique component to your gameplay (more on tank types below).
Diep.io Stats: All The Tank Upgrades Plus Tips About How To Use Them

There are 8 different stat upgrades you'll be able to use. When you level up your tank, a stat menu seems to the left of your game screen. Below are the stats you can choose from. You select a stat by tapping on the plus sign beside each.

Wellness Regen - Raises the life recovery speed of your tank

Max Well-Being - Increases the maximum life

Body Damage - Improves the damage caused by collision with other players or obstacles

Bullet Speed - Raises the rate of the projectile

Bullet Penetration - Bullets go through challenges and players

Bullet Damage - Improves the damage caused by projectile

Reload - Period decreased bullets

Movement Rate - Increases movement speed of your tank

Each of these stats clearly brings its own sets of advantages and as you think of the Tank class you're going to pick, you’ll want to add complimentary upgrades. For example, snipers load slower so you’ll desire to make their shots count. You’ll also need to consider the types of players you see on the board at the time. If the server is loaded with players, for instance, health upgrades might come in handy.

There are four distinct tank types in Diep.io, which appear after you’ve reached a degree 15 tank. Each class offers its own unique benefits:

Twin - Adds a second firearm shooting at an identical frequency

Sniper - Raises the range of vision and the projectile damage. Category with slower shooting

Machine Gun - Cannon increases the angle and fires projectiles faster

Flank Guard - Fires in two different directions

At levels 30 and 45, the preceding types upgrade to even more powerful tanks. They are as follows:

Twin -> Triplet -> Pentashot

Sniper -> Overseer -> Overlord

Machine Gun -> Destroyer -> Mega Destroyer

Flankguard -> Twin Flank -> Octotank

UPGRADE: A new Necromancer class was added Wednesday. Learn what it does and the way to get it, here.

Diep.io Strategies And Upgrade Hints
We hunted several Diep.io clothing around the web and discovered players sharing upgrade combos and strategies they're using. We have posted a few of them below.

Diep.io Strategy #1 – by FPTN on Reddit

Get to level 15 and upgrade to a Twin
Max out Bullet Damage and Reload (alternate between)
Add a point into Health Regen
Get to level 30 and upgrade to a Triplet (NOT Triple-shot!)
Max out Bullet Penetration
Maximum out Bullet Speed
Add the rest into Max Wellbeing
“The notion is that you are always protected by your own flow of bullets,” FPTN wrote. “The high Bullet Penetration and Reload means that enemy bullets WOn't ever have the capacity to reach you, as they'll be gunned down by your bullets. Then if they try to body slam you, they will expire to your high damage stream of bullets. With this in mind, you can go on to pick your own fights and escape from unwanted ones by covering yourself with a big, impenetrable wave of bullets. I killed 145 tanks on my last game using this construct before I had to leave.”
